Maintenance
TPM (Total Productive Maintenance)
Efficiency and effectiveness of equipment plays a dominant role in modern manufacturing industry to determine the performance of the organisational production function as well as the level of success achieved in the organisation. Total productive maintenance (TPM) is a methodology that aims to increase the availability of existing equipment hence reducing the need for further capital investment. Because of increased competency levels and demand of quality products at lower costs, companies needs a comprehensive system to achieve optimum output from the equipment/ machine.
TPM is a plan, which concentrates on total involvement of everyone from top management to all employees to implement a comprehensive maintenance program for all equipment throughout its life. This plan results in maximum effectiveness of equipment, tidier, neat and clean work place and morally boosted employees . TPM has been recognised as one of the significant operation strategy to regain the production losses due to equipment inefficiency. Comar can, and do, implement TPM systems with existing customers to meet their requirements and shutdowns.
Rich, a huge thanks for your immediate support on the disconnect system, we are not quite their yet , but with Comars continued support we have the best chance of achieving our targets.

Many thanks for this. It’s exactly what we needed. TOP JOB!
Upgrades
Sometimes existing equipment can be converted or upgraded to perform a similar or different function; this was the case with the requirement for a thrust reverser system that we found we could fit onto an existing Fan Nozzle test rig, thereby reducing the cost of a new structure. In this case a percentage of the control system could be used too and environmental components too.
What is an Upgrade or Retrofit?
Comar with our electrical partners regularly upgrade, or retrofit, test rigs with the industry's most advanced electronics and software. High maintenance costs, increasing periods of downtime, and changes to a products’ are the primary reasons that companies choose to retrofit or upgrade their system. In many cases, reconditioning the system is the best choice, while in other cases, selecting new provides a better solution. Component obsolescence in electronics and hydraulics is making it increasingly difficult to support aging test systems; resulting in various products being placed.
Generally the mechanical components of the test rig are left intact while the old electronics and hydraulics and analogue modules are replaced with all new digital controllers and software.
Repairs
As a part of our continuing support to MRO departments we offer on site and at Comar repair services of mechanical and hydraulic equipment
We have Skydrol , Mineral Oil and Red Oil test facilities to test valves and pumps after completion of repair.
Component repairs are managed by our experienced repair team using repair workshops of the highest quality standard. Our repair management service includes Pumps, Rams, Servo Valves, Spool Valves and offers fast service delivery, reduced lead times and competitive pricing.
Justin, we fitted the test item to the rig late yesterday. Excellent job, everything lined up perfectly, which had Designer Andrew dancing around the test rig house. Cannot say fairer than that!
